Jon Pierre Personally Speaking;

I feel and have felt since the beginning of this recording project my new CD Jon Pierre Gee & Kat Webb  Ah'VANTSOUL   will be one of my best,  not only because I've assembled some of the best musicains that I have known for years, but because  so much of this music is personal and I don't mean that in the PR sense, I mean exposing really private and challenging feelings to the public, things I believe about myself.

My recent session will help you understand what I mean,Oct 28th myself and Kat Webb were in the studio doing background overdubs and I was doing a new lead vocal on a song I had written together with Mike Reese my keyboardist and writing partner since 1975, titled "Forgive" sings about the fact that you can not ever be expected to receive and truly give love from the soul, until you learn to forgive others,especially those who hurt you,and forgive yourself. When I started to sing the lead I was not feeling it took me four takes before I could relax enough to do what I would normally do in one, no more then two takes. I came to realize that for a moment maybe I did not believe what I was writing and singing about,I am from the old school of thought  you "practice what you preach" and I  felt I would not give a convincing vocal performance if I did not believe what I wrote, but once I  admitted that  to myself and faced the old emotional challenges that haunted me diffcult as  it was, I would be wiser and more understanding, because I was also writing about what I wanted to be or could grow to be maybe motivate one or two others to do the same. What I sacrafice as an artist for the future of my humankind, the exposure of my personal thoughts,feelings an frailities to the world is my gift from the divininty, to give to all humankind music and songs that will hopefully awaken us in hearts and minds to our universality.  I am fufilling my creative purpose.

This CD has so much to offer the remake of Jr. Walker's  1965 classic party hit "Shotgun" is a masterpiece we like to call it Jr.Walker's Revenge.  The totally originally and beautiful approach to Bread's Hit " Make It With You",The simply marvelous duet with Kat Webb "Still By Your Side" Kat Webb's very personal"The Man You Are" and"Sacred Dance" is a union of souls, Middle Eastern and R&B and says that music, dance, sex, love, an spiritualism is the communication that makes us all the same.  Stay tuned In   This is Jon Pierre "Personally Speaking"
